the books we like

This section gives our clients a chance
to buy some of the books we recommend on our training and mentoring activities.

It also gives our prospective clients an opportunity to view the kind of material which has influenced our thinking and our style of delivery ...

For those who want to improve their Listening skills a great piece about the four levels of listening.
The author came from Shell's scenario planning group and into some of the world's great conflicts. A great read on many levels
Some good advice for the professional services based managers.
Mainly aimed at the older services trades for me but still a useful read
This is probably the master work
on how to build trust with your clients.

Certainly a good percentage of the rainmaker's skillset.

Described as a handbook for everyday problem solving.
Great, short book and useful for getting you and other people unstuck and looking at problems and issues with  a fresh perspective
Dale Carnegie's master work. If you haven't read it... do it now

We particularly like the way that the authors look at client meetings and their focus on the client

This one changed the way I managed people forever

This one is a little "hippy" but a
lovely book and for those interested
in influence a must read.

Cialdini is for us the key figure in Influence in the 21st century. This is a fascinating read on many levels

Hogan is also a read for those in the field of influencing. Longer than Cialdini but covers different aspects.

Kate and Romilly's book is an easy
to read and easy to dip in and out of
reference for the basics of NLP

Kate and Brindley help people to build their confidence and help those of us who help too!

This one we dip into for each of the programmes we run, looking for stories to make people think.

Shelle is both amusing and precise
about what changes peoples minds.
A good enough combination for us

For those of us who need to network for a living (who doesn't?) an insight into how networks work and how to use them

This tends to be more services selling than our definition of Rainmaking but nevertheless has some very good tools

For those of us with a modesty
problem a great book to tease out
strengths and to show how to brag
without really bragging

From a Master practitioner of NLP an exploration of the Neurological levels and how to help people move through them to find their dreams

Ian and ITS helped most of us to our Master Practitioner status in NLP and continue to help now A slightly different angle on the NLP
coaching topic.

Straight forward 1930's based on how the rich people all have a focus on what they want and how using mental disciplines they achieved their goals

A course book format on how using the techniques of NLP you can enhance your selling ability If you are running a small business
and trying to make it bigger and
would like to figure out how
then read this book.
For anyone in the field of consulting a good test for your methods of dealing with clients. A good structure and a sensible approach
